Study Abroad

Students in the Major or Honors Program are encouraged to study abroad, and may complete up to 15 upper division units on student exchange at other universities or on field schools with prior approval. Submit the relevant course description to the world literature advisor well in advance of the course.

Student Exchange

Spend one or two semesters studying at an SFU partner university while earning credit towards your degree!

We currently have exchange agreements with over 100 universities in more than 40 countries. Study in, and explore, countries within Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Europe, Latin America, North America, or the South Pacific.

Field Schools

A Field School can be described as an extended field trip, group study tour, or an off-campus delivery of Simon Fraser University courses for a group of 12 - 20 students.  Each Field School is a full semester program, directed by an SFU instructor, consisting of 9 to 12 units of selected courses delivered through coursework, assignments, and field studies beginning at an SFU campus then traveling overseas to one or more locations.
