The FASS First-Year Experience will help you get the most out of this all important year. At our award-winning new Surrey campus, you’ll have the opportunity to choose:

• Explorations, an interdisciplinary program designed specifically for students wishing to explore the diversity of the Arts and Social Sciences
• Crim One, specializing in Criminology
• Global Issues First-Year Learning Community (FLC), combining world literature, international studies and history*
• Social & Behavioural Sciences FLC, combining psychology, sociology and cognitive science *

These first year pathways are designed specifically to help you get connected to other first-year students, faculty in the program, as well as the campus community. All of this adds up to a friendly, supportive, and exciting first year at University. 

If you are applying for one of these first-year programs, you may be eligible for the $2,000 SFU Surrey Close to Home Awards.
